What is Adagio Travels?

Adagio is the answer to a world of rushed itineraries and shallow sightseeing. Rooted in the Italian musical term adagio — “slowly, with grace” — our name reflects our mission: to design journeys that celebrate local traditions, sustainable practices, and the simple joy of slowing down.

At the heart of Adagio are artisans, small producers, and organic and biodynamic winemakers who welcome you into their worlds. Whether it’s walking through a vineyard at harvest, tasting bread pulled straight from a village oven, or staying in a family-run wine resort, each experience is curated with care — designed to awaken the senses and leave a lasting connection.

Every journey has its own tempo. At Adagio Travels, you can decide how slowly or deeply you’d like to move — from a carefully composed itinerary shaped around your interests, to immersive on-the-ground experiences that let you live each moment with presence.

Whether you prefer a guiding framework or a fully felt adventure, both services are designed to celebrate culture, connection, and the art of traveling adagio — slowly, with grace.

Julie Bizzarri

Hello! Bonjour! Buongiorno! Guten Tag!

I created Adagio Travels to share a different kind of journey — one that celebrates slowness, sustainability, and soulful connections. Growing up in France’s Loire Valley, I learned early that the best meals — and the best adventures — come from taking your time: long lunches, bustling markets, and vineyards stretching under the sun.

Since then, my love for languages, cultures, and Europe’s hidden corners has taken me far. I’ve lived in Switzerland and the stunning three-country Mosel region — Germany, Luxembourg, and France — and explored Italy, especially my great-grandparents’ homeland of Emilia-Romagna, savoring local flavors and meeting passionate winemakers and artisan chefs along the way.

I speak English, French (my mother tongue), Italian, and German — which fuels my love for gastronomy and connecting with small, dedicated producers. In 2018, I traveled across Europe interviewing biodynamic winemakers, diving into their craft, philosophies, and the stories behind each bottle.

Since 2021, I’ve called California home and worked in Sonoma Valley’s vibrant wine scene. From Europe’s steepest vineyards on the Mosel, through Italy’s incredible diversity of terroirs, to Georgia — the cradle of wine made in the traditional Kvevri — I’ve learned so much that I’m excited to share with curious, mindful travelers.

Adagio Travels is my way of helping you discover not just destinations, but the people, flavors, and stories that make each journey unforgettable.
